Don't come here at dusk thinking you'll find something quick and easy (though you could luck out). Come here in the afternoon with a willingness to explore options. Don't forget a table though... there aren't picnic tables at unofficial sites.
What an amazing range of mountains and forest this is! Camp grounds are very good. Make sure you check web sites for the very readily available information on burn bans.
This is the most scenic area in the Pacific Northwest. The Core Enchantments are the most beautiful, crystal clear, pristine lakes I have ever seen. The hike to get there is very challenging but if you are up for the task you will see a world seemingly untouched by humanity. Mountain goats roam by you and chipmunks come up to your feet only to dart away as soon as you catch a glimpse of them. If you live in the Pacific Northwest and love the wilderness, you cannot ignore this majestic place. You must go and see nature in all its glory.
There are few places better than the mountains. And these mountains and forests are the absolute best. If you know where to go you can spend endless amounts of weekends and never get bored. Driving mountain dirt roads, huckleberry picking or finding hidden lakes. Wenatchee national forest is a great place for families or just to be yourself.
I love camping here! There are so many unofficial sites just up forest service roads.
Beauty beyond words; this place is truly amazing. The trails are well groomed and taken care of.
If you need all that normal stuff, make reservations at Salmon la Sac campground.
